Frequently Asked Questions
Who makes the earrings at Annica’s Jewellery?
That would be me! All my earrings are designed, tested and produced by me, Annica. Many of earrings are cut using cutters, and I’m happy to say that I purchase these from many other small UK businesses. With this except, colours are mixed, the clay is worked and the final pieces are sanded drilled and varnished all by my own hands.
What are the earrings made of?
The earring from Annica’s Jewellery are made using polymer clay. This is a material that feels just like clay in its raw state and once cured it becomes solid, slightly flexible and very sturdy.
Since 2024 all warring fittings are surgical steel, a hypoallergenic metal which is suitable even for sensitive ears.
I have sensitive ears, can I wear your earrings?
Quite possibly. Many of the fitting types have already migrated to 316 surgical stainless steel in order for my earrings to be suitable even for the most sensitive of ears. Please check the description on each item and if you’re not sure, then contact me through the contact us page
Can I sleep in my earrings?
You can, although it isn’t advised. Polymer clay is fairly sturdy once cured however I advise taking the earrings out when heading to bed to prevent snagging or damage.
Are the earrings waterproof?
Whilst all my earrings are water resistant, it’s recommended that you remove them before showering, bathing, swimming, going in a sauna or any other water activities.
Having tested them in the shower I can guarantee that they will be fine the odd time wearing them, however chlorine, chemicals or excess heat may damage the earrings.
